Speaking in an interview with CBS News, Trump said any final agreement must completely prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. He added that he would review Iran’s latest proposal with senior advisers before deciding whether the US would resume military action against Tehran. Trump confirmed that key figures including envoy Steve Witkoff, adviser Jared Kushner, and Vice President J. D. Vance would attend the high-level meeting. At the same time, disagreement continues over the future of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. Trump suggested that the waterway could be fully reopened under a peace deal, but Iranian officials quickly rejected that claim. Iran’s Fars News Agency quoted a government source saying that even if an agreement is reached, the Strait of Hormuz will remain under Iranian control.
