The Central Board of Secondary Education has dismissed a viral social media notice related to the Class 12 board exam scanned copy and re-checking process, calling it completely fake. The board clarified that the facility for obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets and applying for re-evaluation or re-checking has not been canceled and will continue as scheduled. Students have been advised to ignore rumors circulating online and rely only on updates available through the official CBSE website and verified social media handles.
According to the board, a misleading notice falsely claimed that the photocopying and re-checking process for answer sheets had been stopped. In response, CBSE issued an official statement on its social media platforms, assuring students that the evaluation and re-evaluation system remains active. The board emphasized its commitment to transparency, fairness, and accuracy in the examination process. It also stated that all genuine concerns raised by students will be reviewed carefully by subject experts during the re-evaluation process.
Meanwhile, CBSE has extended the deadline for applying for scanned copies of answer sheets due to ongoing technical issues on the portal. The original last date was May 22, 2026, which was first extended to May 23 and later further extended until May 24, 2026. The board said the decision was taken to ensure that no student misses the opportunity to apply because of technical difficulties.
Since the application process began on May 20, many students have reported several issues while using the portal. Complaints included website crashes, payment failures, unsuccessful application submissions, and problems downloading scanned copies. Some students also claimed that the portal mistakenly displayed a fee of ₹69,000 per copy, causing confusion and panic among applicants.
Following repeated complaints from students and parents, CBSE directed its technical team to resolve the issues quickly. The board has assured students that efforts are being made to stabilize the portal and make the application process smoother. By extending the deadline, CBSE hopes to provide relief to affected students and ensure equal access to the re-checking and scanned copy facilities.
