Rahul Gandhi has sharply criticized the central government over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, declaring that he will continue protesting until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post. He accused the government of failing to protect the future of millions of students and questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue.
On Sunday, Rahul Gandhi shared a video on social media platform X showing students protesting in Hyderabad against the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. In the video, students were seen raising slogans against the central government and demanding accountability from the Education Ministry. The protesters also called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Reacting strongly to the situation, Rahul Gandhi said that the future of nearly 22 lakh students is hanging in uncertainty due to repeated examination irregularities. He stated that when such a large number of young people are forced to protest on the streets for justice, it reflects a major failure of the government. According to him, the continued silence of the Prime Minister on such a serious issue shows the government’s lack of sensitivity toward students and their concerns.
The Congress leader further alleged that the government is trying to avoid responsibility instead of taking strict action. He emphasized the urgent need for a “foolproof” examination system that can completely prevent paper leaks and restore the trust of students and parents across the country.
The Congress party has been continuously attacking the central government over the NEET-UG controversy for the past several days. Party leaders claim that the government has failed to ensure transparency, fairness, and security in national-level examinations. Congress has repeatedly demanded the resignation of the Union Education Minister, arguing that accountability must be fixed in the matter.
Rahul Gandhi had earlier also criticized Prime Minister Modi during his foreign visit, saying that while students across the country were protesting against paper leaks and seeking justice, the Prime Minister remained occupied with international tours. He stressed that the NEET paper leak has severely affected the future of lakhs of students, yet the government has not taken any decisive action or identified those responsible for the lapse.
