Ministers Highlight Vision for Regional Growth and Public Welfare

*Public Representatives Must Work with Dedication to Improve Basic Civic Amenities: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai* *Chief Minister Attends Oath-Taking Ceremony of Newly Constituted Shivanandanpur Nagar Panchayat* Raipur, June 17, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Chairperson and Councillors of the newly constituted Shivanandanpur Nagar Panchayat during his visit to Surajpur district on 17 June. Congratulating Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Shri Ritesh Jaiswal and all newly elected public representatives, the Chief Minister called upon them to work with dedication and commitment towards public service and development. On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced the construction of a well-equipped Mangal Bhawan in Ward No. 06 of Shivanandanpur Nagar Panchayat. Citizens present at the event expressed their gratitude and welcomed the announcement enthusiastically. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that granting Nagar Panchayat status to Shivanandanpur fulfils a long-standing aspiration of the region. He stated that the move will pave the way for planned urban development and ensure better civic infrastructure and public amenities for residents. He added that the people have elected their representatives with trust and confidence, and living up to that trust is now their greatest responsibility. He urged the newly elected representatives to work sincerely towards improving electricity, drinking water, roads, sanitation and other basic public services. He said the State Government remains committed to ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society. Public representatives should act as a bridge between the government and the people and play a leading role in the effective implementation of welfare programmes. He appealed to citizens to make the most of government schemes and remain aware of their rights and entitlements. He said that people can register their grievances and concerns through the Chief Minister Helpline and Chief Minister Call Centre. The government is committed to ensuring the timely and effective resolution of public issues. Addressing the gathering, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam said that the formation of Shivanandanpur Nagar Panchayat will provide a new direction to the region's overall development. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, a new chapter of development will be written in Shivanandanpur. He also urged the newly elected representatives to fulfil public expectations and work sincerely for the area's progress. Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade said that Shivanandanpur received Nagar Panchayat status due to the efforts and visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. She described it as a historic step towards regional development that will provide better urban facilities and accelerate development activities. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the initiative. Chief Minister Reviews Departmental Stalls Following the oath-taking ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, along with members of the Cabinet, visited exhibition and awareness stalls set up by various government departments. At the Social Welfare Department stall, he provided tricycles to two specially-abled beneficiaries. He also handed over keys to newly constructed houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to three beneficiaries. At the Women and Child Development Department stall, various nutritious food items prepared for child nutrition programmes, including khichdi, halwa, khurma, barfi, katua, gulgula, and ready-to-eat nutritional supplements, were on display. The Chief Minister appreciated the nutrition initiatives after reviewing the exhibits. During the programme, traditional godbharai (baby shower) ceremonies for three pregnant women and annaprashan ceremonies for two children were also conducted. The Chief Minister interacted with beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana and enquired about the benefits they had received under the scheme. He also reviewed stalls set up by the Tribal Development Department, Agriculture Department, Forest Department, Health Department, Water Resources Department and School Education Department. At the School Education Department stall, students of Government Higher Secondary School, Karwan, showcased various innovations and scientific models, including a Solar Sanitation Kit, which received appreciation from the Chief Minister. *Beneficiaries Receive Assistance Under Various Welfare Schemes* During the programme, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai distributed various materials and assistance to beneficiaries of several welfare schemes. Under the Futkar Matsya Vikkray Upkaran Pradaya Yojana of Matsya Palan Prasar Yojana, he distributed an ice box along with financial assistance of Rs 6,000 each to Smt. Bharti Kevat and Smt. Tapeshwari Rajwade of Kunjannagar. Under social security and healthcare programmes, he distributed Vay Vandan Card to Shri Amrut of Shivanandanpur. Eligible beneficiaries from Shivanandanpur and Kuruwan also received Ayushman Cards under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel, Member of Parliament Shri Chintamani Maharaj, Premnagar MLA Shri Bhulan Singh Maravi, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation Shri Ramsevak Paikra, Surguja Divisional Commissioner Shri Narendra Dugga, IG Shri Deepak Jha, Collector Smt. Rena Jameel, along with public representatives, officials and distinguished citizens, were present.
