Chhattisgarh will mark International Olympic Day on Tuesday with a unique blend of sports and environmental conservation as a mega plantation drive set to be held at Paloud village near the BSF Camp in Naya Raipur.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will inaugurate the campaign as the chief guest at 1:00 PM. Organised jointly by the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association and the Forest Department, the initiative aims to plant 2,036 saplings in response to a call by the Indian Olympic Association.
The programme is expected to draw athletes, sports organisations and stakeholders associated with environmental conservation.
Keeping in view state government’s vision of ‘Green Chhattisgarh, Green India’ the plantation drive is being organised on International Olympic Day to serve as a strong example of the harmony between sports and nature.
Chhattisgarh Olympic Association believes that Shri Sai’s participation will inspire young sportspersons and encourage greater engagement in sports.
