CBSE Rechecking Deadline Extended After Portal Issues Frustrate Students
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to apply for re-evaluation and obtain scanned copies of their answer sheets after facing continuous complaints about technical problems on the official portal. The decision has brought relief to thousands of students and parents who were struggling to complete the application process. After the announcement of the CBSE Class 12 board examination results, many students expressed dissatisfaction with their marks and rushed to apply for rechecking and re-evaluation. However, the process soon became controversial due to repeated technical glitches on the CBSE portal. Students reported issues such as portal crashes, slow loading, and the sudden disappearance of the “Click to Apply” option, making it difficult to submit applications on time. Initially, CBSE had started the application process for scanned copies and re-evaluation on May 19, 2026. Students were originally allowed to apply until May 22. Following growing demands from students and parents, the board decided to extend the last date to May 23, 2026. According to CBSE, the extension was provided to ensure that every eligible student gets a fair opportunity to apply without being affected by technical difficulties. Although the board had earlier claimed that the portal was functioning properly, the increase in complaints forced authorities to revise the schedule. Under the updated process, students can now request scanned copies of their answer sheets and apply for re-evaluation by paying the prescribed fee. CBSE has also introduced important changes in the fee structure. Earlier, students had to pay ₹700 to access their answer sheets, but now they can view the checked copies for just ₹100, making the process more affordable and accessible. As per the schedule released by the board, students who complete the application process will be able to view their rechecked answer sheets between May 26 and May 29, 2026. The move is expected to help students better understand the evaluation process and raise concerns if they notice any discrepancies. The extension of the re-evaluation deadline has provided major relief to students who were anxious about missing the opportunity due to technical issues. Many students and parents have welcomed the decision, hoping that the revised process will now run more smoothly.
